Grandpa Got His Gay Day, Wins the Off-Off Broadway Fest!

Earlier in the month, Grandpa and the Gay Rabbi was named one of the six winners of the 2016 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Festival, a wonderful honor. Out of the 1,500 submissions, this little play - that was inspired by my late grandfather and some of his more infamous-isms - was selected for three fantastic performances at Classic Stage Company in NYC. It is also going to be published in a Samuel French Anthology.

Much appreciation to director-extraordinaire Jonathan Schlieman and cast members Ari Shapiro and Chas McCormack - it was a thrill to watch your work! (Pictured - the casts and creative teams of all six winning OOB plays, congrats to all!)

UNBOUND PRODUCTIONS Rehearsals for Wicked Lit 2016 are off and running - this year's show is going to be a lot of fun! I have two pieces in the evening - Anansi and the Demons, an adaptation drawn from the canon of children's Anansi tales as well as West African ghost stories, and I'm also writing the frame for this year's show, Camp Mountain Veiw. Adaptations of Ellen Glasgow's The Shadowy Third (adapted by Paul Millet) and H.P. Lovecraft's From Beyond (adapted by Trey Nichols) complete the night. A few performances have already sold out! Tickets are available at wickedlit.org, email me for a discount code.

MORE UPDATES Chubby Bunny is going to have its fourth production on November 4, the third production since being published by YouthPLAYS. The piece will be performed in West Des Moines, Iowa, my second play to be produced in the Hawkeye State.
